## The difference in one paragraph

Pressure washing uses high-pressure water to physically remove dirt from hard surfaces. Soft washing uses low pressure with cleaning solutions that kill algae, mold and mildew, then rinses gently. Pressure washing removes what is sitting on the surface. Soft washing kills what is growing into it.

## Which surfaces need which

Pressure washing suits: concrete driveways, sidewalks, patios, brick and stone paving, and dumpster pads. Hard, dense, non-porous surfaces that can take force.
Soft washing suits: vinyl, stucco, fiber cement, painted wood, shingles, screens and anything with seams water can be driven behind. Essentially the whole vertical face of the house.

## Why it matters so much on siding

High pressure on siding forces water behind panels and into wall cavities, where it does not dry. It strips paint, etches soft wood, cracks old caulk and can void siding warranties. The damage often does not appear for months, which is why the connection gets missed.

## Why soft washing lasts longer
